We have been requested to provide support for the upcoming
Scratch Ankle Bike Race, scheduled for Saturday, March 21, in the northern part
of Santa Rosa County (Munson Area). We are seeking both an ARES volunteer
equipped with a mobile radio and a CERT volunteer to offer first aid
assistance at each aid station. If you do not have a ham radio, "go kits" are available
for loan during the event, provided you hold a valid amateur radio license.
While the exact aid station locations are still being finalized, the race will
start at Bear Lake Campground. There will be a minimum of four aid stations,
with race coordination net control operating from Bear Lake. Volunteer shift
durations will vary depending on your assigned aid station, but the latest
expected end time is approximately 4:00 to 4:30 PM.
