What We Do

The Santa Rosa County Department of Emergency Management plans for and responds to both natural and man-made disasters.  These range from floods and hurricanes to incidents involving hazardous materials or nuclear power.

We work with community partners to develop relationships, plans, procedures, trainings, and exercises to ensure that when our community needs us most, we can all work together to return Santa Rosa County to normal.

We are responsible for the maintenance and operations of the countywide Emergency Operations Center that is a facility in which key partners work collaboratively to prioritize and manage the entire suite of critical services that may need to be provide in preparation for, response to, and recovery from a large scale emergency or disaster.

We also provide community outreach and training year-round, to include our CERT program
