Come help our construction crew with framing a Pensacola Habitat home for a family in the Home Buyer program! No construction experience is necessary!

Please arrive by 7:45 a.m. Crew leaders will give a safety talk around 8:00 a.m. Make sure you check in on the iPad or via the provided QR code. Please bring a folding chair, if possible, to ensure there are enough seats to accommodate larger groups. There will be a break for lunch around 11:00 a.m. Lunch will not be provided; however, water will be available. The day will end around 2:00 p.m. 

To simplify our signup process & get it in line with our other activities, we are moving our weekly Santa Rosa County Citizen Corps Net Control Station (NCS) signup to "Get Connected."  The net is every week at 1900 CT on the 146.700 K4SRC repeater.

Skyline Fire department has asked for us to assist with 2 different live fires they will have at their department. We will setup our full rehab gear and provide relief to the team as they're fighting the fires. If you have interest in assisting with the fire rehab program, please attend at least one of these live fires. 6924 FL-87, Milton, FL 32570 Will need to be onsite by 5:30 PM.

General Activities at the Santa Rosa County Animal Shelter.

Going into its eighth year, the annual End of Watch Memorial Ruck, will continue its third year using a format that was started in 2022 titled “10-42”. 10-42 is a common radio code for “at home/out of service” or “End of Watch” with many law enforcement agencies. This code is often used at a fallen officers’ memorial service to mark the end of their watch. During this event, the participants will carry a one-pound weight that bears the name of an officer who died in the line of duty in 2024 for one mile. We've been asked to have a volunteer available for first aid and any general assistance that might be needed.  Some of these shifts are longer, if you can't work the entire shift, any help is appreciated.  We will not have a team captain onsite so you will need to be self sufficient.

The Munson Heritage festival is a very popular event in the fall in Santa Rosa County. Santa Rosa County ARES & CERT teams have been asked to provide communications and first aid support at the annual Munson Heritage Festival at the Krul Recreation Area on Saturday October 11 and Sunday October 12 from 9A-5P.  Shifts will be in 4-hour blocks.  Water/hydration will be available at incident command.  First aid station and roving volunteers will need to have completed basic first aid certification & CPR/AED training.

The Milton Police Department has asked for us to assist them with traffic control for this year's Milton High School homecoming parade. We do not have the full details as of yet and will provide them once we receive them. We do know we will be needed from 0930-1230 in the area of Stewart Street.

Ascension Sacred Heart has asked us to be present for a hurricane outreach event. Volunteers will pass out materials from SRC EM and talk with visitors about hurricane preparedness. A booth will need to be setup and broken down. A morning and afternoon shift have been established. The event is from 1000-1600.

Volunteers are need to assist with Traffic and Registration for the Annual Rabies Clinic Provided by the Florida Department of Health.  

The Florida Department of Health in Santa Rosa County (DOH-Santa Rosa) and Santa Rosa County Animal Services will host a drive-through rabies vaccination clinic for dogs and cats, Fri., October 24, from 4- 6 p.m. at Pensacola State College- Milton Campus, 5988 Highway 90 in Milton.

Enter at the second entrance on Highway 90 Westbound and follow directional signs.

Veterinarians from The Ark Animal Hospital will provide the vaccine and administer the injections for a $10 fee. Cash and checks are the only payment methods accepted. A valid driver’s license will be required for all checks. A certificate of vaccination and rabies tag will be provided. No other services will be available. Pets must be secured in a vehicle, crate or on leash.

The Fenner McConnell ride is on Oct 25. The 100-Mile course will be starting at 07:00AM and hopefully ending by 16:00 (4 PM)

We will need both amateur radio & first aid volunteers.  At least 1 amateur radio volunteer at each location will need a base station style radio with an extended antenna.  This race starts in Milton and extends all the way to the northern and far eastern extent of our county.  Volunteers should pack a lunch, snack, and water as this will be an all-day event. Some locations along the route will be able to be released before others.

Trunk or Treat/Fall Festival at Lifeguard Ambulance Service on Sunday, October 26th from 4pm - 6pm. Just need volunteers to pass out candy and information about CERT & ARES.

Be a part of our fantastic volunteer dog walking program. Getting the dogs out so they can exercise and get one on one attention is very important to their well being!

We need volunteers to assist with directing traffic and food distribution for families for Thanksgiving.  This event simulates a POD (point of distribution) and is an excellent opportunity to experience how something like this would work during disaster response.  The event will take place at the Holley-Navarre Intermediate School (1936 Navarre School Road).

Traffic vests/wands will be needed for this event.  We will utilize public safety radios for the event. Please park across the street, not at the fire station.

We have been requested to provide volunteers for the 2025 Navarre Mardi Gras Parade.  Volunteers will need to arrive by 9:00AM.  The parade will begin at 1:00PM and is estimated to completed by 4:00PM.  Volunteers should have completed or viewed the basic traffic direction class.  We will use public safety radios for communication but will have amateur radio as a backup.  Volunteers should have a safety vest and traffic wand (we have loaners if you need one.)
