Opportunities From: Volunteer Santa Rosa County

To simplify our signup process & get it in line with our other activities, we are moving our weekly Santa Rosa County Citizen Corps Net Control Station (NCS) signup to "Get Connected."  The net is every week at 1900 CT on the 146.700 K4SRC repeater.

We have been asked to support Feeding the Gulf Coast by packing food boxes for seniors in our community. This volunteer opportunity will take place indoors and should take about 2 hours. Closed toed shoes are required. Parking is limited so carpool if possible.

SRC CERT has been requested to provide a cooling and recovery shelter for the Coming Clean 5K race in downtown Milton. SRC CERT will staff the shelter and provide the associated cooling equipment to support participant recovery and safety during the event.

Berrydale Volunteer Fire Department will be hosting an open house and has extended an invitation for CERT and ARES to set up an informational table. If needed, our team may also assist with serving food or managing parking. More details to come. 

CERT has been requested to assist with vehicle and trick-or-treater management for a Trunk-or-Treat event at Community of Christ Church in Holley-Navarre. Additional details will be provided as they become available.

CERT has been requested to assist the Black Water Pyrates during their annual festival at the Bagdad Mill site in Bagdad. CERT will support parking operations at both the Mill site and the First Pentecostal Church parking lots. Additional information will be provided as it becomes available.

With any event we work, please make sure to bring necessary personal items such as hydration, snacks, sunscreen, chairs or any other items you may need for the incident (traffic vests, etc.) While we strive to have supplies at each event, please be prepared in case something comes up that prevents your access to these supplies at the event. CERT has been requested to assist the Navarre Beach Fire Department and the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office with public safety support on and around the course. Additional details will be provided as they become available.

CERT has been requested to assist with vehicle and pedestrian management during a haunted forest trail event at Community of Christ Church in Holley-Navarre. The event will take place on Friday and Saturday, October 16 and 17, and Friday and Saturday, October 23 and 24. Additional details will be provided as they become available.

CERT has been requested to assist Milton High School NJROTC by providing two first aid teams and support tents. Additional details will be provided as they become available.
