Opportunities From: Volunteer Santa Rosa County

To simplify our signup process & get it in line with our other activities, we are moving our weekly Santa Rosa County Citizen Corps Net Control Station (NCS) signup to "Get Connected."  The net is every week at 1900 CT on the 146.700 K4SRC repeater.

We need volunteers to assist with directing traffic and food distribution for families for Thanksgiving.  This event simulates a POD (point of distribution) and is an excellent opportunity to experience how something like this would work during disaster response.  The event will take place at the Holley-Navarre Intermediate School (1936 Navarre School Road).

Due to liability concerns, minors (children under 18) are not permitted to volunteer or accompany our CERT volunteers during events. With any event we work, please make sure to bring necessary personal items such as hydration, snacks, sunscreen, chairs or any other items you may need for the incident (traffic vests, etc.) While we strive to have supplies at each event, please be prepared in case something comes up that prevents your access to these supplies at the event. CERT and ARES training and meeting. Topic of training yet to be determined. This meeting will be held at the Department of Health building at 5527 Stewart St, Milton, FL 32570.

We have been requested to provide volunteers for the 2025 Navarre Mardi Gras Parade.  Volunteers will need to arrive by 9:00AM.  The parade will begin at 1:00PM and is estimated to completed by 4:00PM.  Volunteers should have completed or viewed the basic traffic direction class.  We will use public safety radios for communication but will have amateur radio as a backup.  Volunteers should have a safety vest and traffic wand (we have loaners if you need one.)
